Grandpa’s 90th Birthday!!
Today is my husband’s grandpas 90th birthday and I had to make him a card to go along with his present we got him. Have you seen those cute new postage stamps that have all of the old TV shows on them? Well we weren’t supposed to get him anything, but when I was at the PO yesterday, I saw those and had to get them for him. I am hoping he will love them as much as I loved getting them for him.
This card turned out exactly how I wanted it to. I was using my new Big Shot die Scallop Oval and wanted to make this as manly as I could, but turns out, I have NO manly stamps. So guess what is on my list. If you have a suggestion for me, please let me know. I am kindof stumped here. Anyways. I used one of the texture plates and then sponged it so it would POP a little more. I paper pieced the cupcake and used as many manly colors as I could.
I did use a non stampin up product on this called a glitter pen , basically because I wanted to add some flare and sparkel to it, but thought that if I used the dazzling diamonds, it would be too much for him. Anyways, we will be celebrating his birthday tonight with him and I am sure seeing lots of the family.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. And again, if you have any suggestions for the manly stamp set, please let me know in your comments.
Hugs
Heidi

Halloween Sweet Centers for Stamping 411
Hello stampers!! I am so excited because my favorite BROWN BOX delivery man brought me a package yesterday and I got some new goodies to play with. I have been wanting to play along with the Stamping 411 gals for a while now and today is the day!!
Their sketch is :
If you click on the sketch you can see what everyone else is doing for this sketch also. Take a peak and go on over there. I am sure they will love your visit.
My take on this sketch immediately drew me to the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog’s SWEET CENTERS! I even have the cool little cups that fit in the middle of the set to play with but for now, I just made it simple. Well at least I tried to.
I just love how this turned out and hope that it inspires you. If you would like to know more about this set and don’t have a demonstrator, please email me and I will be happy to help you out.

DCBD LAST Big Shot Challenge #138
Hello stampers:
I am running a little late today on posting. I had a somewhat bad night last night and hubby got called into work and I completely was bummin’ due to that. The poor man finally had one day of regular work and then got called back to work at 7pm and didn’t get home until midnight. Bless his heart he worked all last week 12 hr days + including the entire weekend. Ya, the money will be awesome but my honey means more and plus he was getting a little cranky and the entire family (kids especially) were having Daddy withdrawals.
Anyways, this is the sketch for this week. Use any current Stampin Up ONLY BIG SHOT supplies. From dies, to embossing texture plates to the dry embossing folders. You can make a card or a 3D project. Its free for all day!! When you are done, go to the Diva blog and post your picture on Mr Linkey.

STAMPIN UP’s New 2009-2010 Catalog is HERE!!
And what better than to introduce you to the New IN COLORS!! Aren’t they GORGEOUS!!
I was not sure I was going to ever give up last years, but OH MY these are soooooo yummy when you put them together!! They as usual ALL go together no matter the color.
I have wanted to make one of these super cute Top Note Purses for so long but have never just sat down and did it. But I did tonight and I can tell these will be a favorite with me and a class on the schedule soon!!
This is the front.
This is the set all together. I love the way this entire set just coasted together. I wasn’t sure what or how I was going to incorporate the background stamp into these cards but I did it and I love it!!

Here are the cards close up. They are the 3×3 cards.

And this is the back. I added the little scalloped envelope and put a little card in it.
It just screams “Give me to someone who is down and needs a cheerful pick me up”
Well there you have it. The brand new In Colors all wrapped up in a cutie patootie Top Note purse! Oh did you see the POLKA DOT ribbon??? Yes that is new too!! Gotta love Stampin Up!!
Have a blessed day. Go check out the rest of the divas over at our Diva Blog

Diva’s Coffee Break Design BIG SHOT Challenge #126
Today is BIG SHOT day!!! And I am loving my Big Shot lately. I got a new die that I am playing with now, and will show you gals later but for today I am using the Scalloped Circle and the Birds on a Branch dies.
I was so unsure if these colors were going to work and I really had nothing in mind what to do today so I went through my precut card paper ( I cut my paper in half and store it on my desk so that I have to play with colors I don’t always play with) It makes you go out of your box sometimes and play with those lonely papers that don’t always get used. But anyway, I came up with this sweet card thinking of someone special in my life that I am missing right now. So this cards for you, sweetie!!

Diva’s Coffee Break Design BIG SHOT Challenge #122
I am back and with both hands finally!! I am so excited to be playing again with all of you and for this weeks challenge to be the Big Shot. I just received the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and I had to use it.
I started out with Pale Plum for the background and then used the Blush Blossom underneath of the cardstock vellum to create this look.
I used a dauber and sponged Pale Plum ink onto the vellum hitting only the embossed lines that were sticking up. I am not at all a purple person, but OH my do I love this card.Heidi
