Diva Coffee Break Color Challenge 166

Wanna have some fun and be a Designer of the Week?? Make a card with this color combo and if the divas pick your card, you will be featured on the Diva Blog for a week. GO on over to the diva blog and upload your picture.

Now here’s mine. I hope you like it.

Here’s the colors you have to work with. Have FUN!

My Birthday “Hostess” Class

I decided that for my class this month we would do birthday cards for the Tweens/Kids and I am so happy with the way these turned out. I am hoping that they like them as much as I do.

The 1st card was inspired by Tami White, but I added some color to it and tried to make it mine other than the Frost White shimmer paints.

This card used the Exteme Elements background stamps along with the Extreme Snowboarder. My card base is Bermuda Bay, layered on Whisper White and then Basic Black. On the basic black, I used the Encore Silver to make the background. Then I embossed the Snowboarder on Basic Black w/ Black embossing powder. Taking a dauber I went into the cap of the Frost White paint and rubbed it all around the image. Then I took a tissue and whipped off the extra paint. I layered this onto Brushed Silver, added silver brads and the stars. I then put this on dimensionals and there you have it. I think any boy would love this card. I know my son thought it was pretty cool.

Now for the girls card I used the Pretty Pony set and the Razzleberry DSP. I started with the Melon Mambo base and added a small piece of the DSP down the side. To add a little more pizzaz to it, I used my versamark pad and put the small stamps all over the MM piece. I really like the way that turned out.  I then used the Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon and tied a small bow around the DSP. For the horse, I used the Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the base and then layered it with the whisper white. I stamped the horse on with Black Stazon due to coloring. I colored the hair with the markers and then added some shimmer to the wings and hair with the gorgeous dazzling diamonds. I added dimensionals to that center piece. For the saying I used the word window punch and then the Fancy Label Punch.

The Divas are making Valentine’s. Will you join us and show your creativity with these great colors we have for this week?

I am super excited about these colors and love them together. They just say LOVE to me more than the card actually does.  When I made this card, I totally had my hubby in mind, also because it is our 19th Anniversary today and what better of a card to give to him. He has always had my heart but today its a little more gooshy. :)
Go on over to the Diva Blog and play along. We would love to see what you can do.

Diva Coffee Break Designs Color Challenge #162

Yes, my hubby stole my heart almost 19 years ago, and he still has it.  Our anniversary is next month and this card reminded me of him while I was missing him at work today. I have been house ridden pretty much due to a messed up back and to even get this card done was a real task. So I hope that this card inspires you to create today no matter what the circumstance. So heres my card.

This challenge was one that made me think alot. Alot more than I really wanted to on how to position these colors. So because I couldn’t get it with these 4 beautiful colors I decided to add a piece of cardstock vellum and emboss it with our new embossing Polka Dots folder to lighten up the colors a little. You like?????

Well we would love to see you play along with us on this wonderful challenge so if you do design something, hop on over to the DIVA BLOG and upload your creation to Mr Linkey so we can see your work.

Stampin Up & Haitian Relief

Many of you have been purchasing from Stampin’ Up! for many years now and over the years have seen the company ‘step-up’ to the plate when there has been a disaster.  This has been in addition to their ongoing support to Ronald McDonald House Charities. As the world focuses on the disaster in Haiti, Stampin’ Up! has once again stepped forward to find a way to help.
From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you buy will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.  Please email me to get your set today!!

Personally…I LOVE the I {Heart} Hearts set.  Those of you who have already attended events or will be attending events this month (and next) are getting to see and use this set.  I really do {Heart} it!  If you didn’t catch this in the Occasions mini…you have a choice now between regular wood mount and the new clear mount.  The clear mount is still our same GREAT rubber stamps only set up to mount on acrylic blocks.  It comes in a GREAT storage case to keep everything organized.
